Led by singer, songwriter and guitarist Ray Davies and his guitar playing brother Dave, The Kinks' nearly 30 years together produced a plethora of hits that began in the mid '60s and continued straight through the '80s. PHOBIA was a louder, tougher affair and took critics and audiences by surprise but has now been acknowledged as another in a long succession of fine Kinks albums.
